What is Yeast?

We had an experiment today about what is yeast and how it eats sugar and produces carbon dioxide.

Then I remembered how cool it was to mix vinegar and baking soda so we did that too.

and compared the balloons.

Nook

Great fun!

Pictographs

We learned in ancient times they used pictures instead of words. So we made our own pictographs (which can be seen hanging up in the second picture)...which lead to a full paint session.

Doing 'boy' things

The other morning we went outside and he saw a baby lizard moving through the grass. I gave him a jar and he caught his first lizard! Of course we let it go after a couple minutes because I have no clue how to care for a lizard and I did not really want to learn.

Something Gross

"Mommy, can we make something gross?"
"Sure!"
So we were off to the kitchen adding a little of this and a little of that. Eggs, juice, jelly, cheerios, flour, soy sauce, coffee...you name it it was in there. No, this was not really to eat. Yes, this little boy had a blast creating his "mad scientist" experiment.

Swimming

Lil Ed started swimming and he totally loves it! Ms. Mary is an awesome teacher for him.

He did so well on Wednesday he got 'treasure' for floating on his back for 30 seconds and swimming past a blue line. This actually made me laugh out loud. Now he has been wearing just the glasses around the house. Silly kid.

Dentist

This was his Third time to visit the dentist. Thankfully we were able to complete the appointment this time. Our first time without major tears!! Great job, buddy!!

Patiently sitting in the dentist chair. I like how the chairs are little for kids! So cute.

Showing off his pearly whites!
